Scheme to finish in 2023
Hawkins\Brown has been appointed to design a new £45m business school, languages and social sciences building for Aston university.
The architect will manage the design and lead the design team for the building, which will provide teaching and office accommodation and will be located in the 24-hectare Gosta Green campus.
Hawkins Brown has been awarded a £763,000 contract to complete the project in the centre of Birmingham.
Expected to be complete in 2023, the new building is part of the university’s regeneration masterplan over 10 years, drawn up by local practice Node, and expected to cost up to £240m.
Last October, the university appointed 14 consultants, including Mace, Gleeds and BDP, to its consultancy framework for its new build, fit-out, refurbishment and demolition projects as part of the regeneration campus masterplan.
