German architect Von Gerkan, Marg + Partners has won a competition to design the Vietnamese parliament building in Hanoi.

It beat 26 others firms from Germany, Finland, France, Switzerland, South Korea and Vietnam. The 45,000m2 building, opposite the mausoleum for Ho Chi Minh, the former leader of Vietnam who died in 1969, is expected to be completed in 2010.
