Jeffries will retain role at Wembley National Stadium while chairing property services company
Mike Jeffries, the chairman of Wembley National Stadium Ltd who oversaw the Wembley stadium redevelopment, has been appointed as chairman of property services company GVA Grimley.
Jeffries, who retains his role at WNSL in addition to the appointment, will help GVA Grimley prepare for a possible flotation. He replaces Ian Stringer, who will take over as regional senior director of GVA Grimley’s Birmingham office.
Jeffries said: “I am pleased to have been appointed as chairman of GVA Grimley and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead as they prepare themselves for future growth.
Bob Barnett, chief executive of GVA Grimley said: “We wanted a chairman who had experience not only of people businesses, the property sector and construction but also of plc corporate governance, the City and private equity.”
The appointment of Jeffries, who was also previously chairman and chief executive of WS Atkins, comes shortly after GVA Grimley received £40m of investment capital from Lloyds Development Captial.
