Work to deliver 174 new homes and 7,500 ft2 of retail space to begin in April
Countryside and Home Group have been given the go-ahead from Three Rivers District Council to start work on phase two of a £172m redevelopment in South Oxhey, Hertfordshire.
The two firms will work with the council to build 174 new homes, 7,500 ft2 of retail space and a new market place.
Work is currently underway with phase one to deliver the first 140 homes and 21,000 ft2 of retail space. Work on phase two will begin in April.
The development near Watford will be delivered in three phases and is due to complete in 2022. It will be an 11-acre site providing 514 new homes, market square, over 55,000 sq ft of retail space, improvements to the approach to Carpenders Park and new public spaces.
The housing comprises a mix of private sale, shared ownership and social rent housing, ranging from apartments to family housing.
Last month, the first new residents moved into Hayling Place, a collection of eight three-bedroom houses that make up the first homes delivered as part of phase one.
At South Oxhey Central, a number of one and two bedroom apartments and two-to-four bedroom houses are due to come to market soon.
In the first release, a range of one and two bedroom apartments will be available to purchase off-plan, ready to move into in summer 2018.
