Work on £330m scheme to finish in 2018
Plans by Cambridge practice Moses Cameron Williams and Atkins for a new campus for the University of Northampton have been approved.
Under the proposals, a brownfield site at Avon Nunn Mills will be the new home of the £330m campus at the town’s Waterside Enterprise Zone.
A 20,000sq m learning hub is part of the scheme along with a 2,500sq m sports hub, both of which have been designed by Moses Cameron Williams. The practice is also behind a new pedestrian-cycle bridge.
An 8,000sq m creative hub and a 5,000sq m research and enterprise building designed by Atkins.
Construction work is now expected to start later this year and be ready in time for the start of the academic year in September 2018.
