Kier is to construct an £80m housing scheme in Woking after winning planning approval from the borough council
The 9.5 hectare site, near the town’s Moor Lane, will now be developed with 371 new homes by Evolution, a joint venture between Kier Project Investment and Thames Valley Housing.
Of the homes, 224 will be affordable social rented housing and the remaining 147 homes will be for private sale.
Kier will construct the properties, beginning this summer, and Thames Valley Housing will manage and maintain the social housing over the 25-year contract.
Nigel Turner, managing director of Kier Property, said: “We are thrilled to have achieved this important milestone and we look forward to working with Thames Valley Housing to progress the development.
“The mixed tenure scheme will play an important part in addressing the area’s housing shortage and also creates long-lasting community benefits through a designated fund for the use by the local community.”
Evolution’s team of professional advisors included PRP Architects, Tully De’ath (engineering), Trowers & Hamlins (legal) and Grant Thornton (financial).
