The Candy brothers’ Foster + Partners-designed luxury residential scheme on bank of Thames wins planning
The Candy brothers’ CPC Group has been given the go-ahead for its luxury residential scheme at Sugar Quay on the north bank of the river Thames.
The Foster + Partners-designed scheme comprises 38 studio apartments, 44 one-bed apartments, 60 two-beds, 12 three-beds, and 11 three- and four-bed penthouses.
The City of London’s planning committee approved the 280,000 sq ft scheme, which will demolish the existing office building – the former offices of Tate & Lyle – and replace it with an 11 storey scheme comprising 165 homes and a waterside commercial unit.
Christian Candy, founder of CPC Group, said: “This is a unique site directly on the river and the redevelopment will make a major contribution to this part of the River Thames, whilst delivering an exceptional living experience in a prominent location in the City of London.”
