West Northamptonshire Development Corporation is now seeking funding for BDP-designed railway station
A plans for a £25m station scheme in Northampton have been approved. The castle station would form the ’Station Gateway’ which could see the creation of 70,000m² of commercial development according to the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation.
DNCD is working with Network Rail to deliver the station redevelopment and it has submitted a bid for financing to the Regional Growth Fund.
Peter Mawson, WNDC’s chief executive, said: ” As part of a wider regeneration programme, the new station is critical to the continued growth of a major economy in the centre of England”
