Construction expected to start this July
Graham has been appointed to refurbish part of Swansea West pier and nearby land which has been damaged by the recent bad weather including last month’s Storm Dennis.
The £10m contract for Associated British Ports involves building a new wall to stabilise the pier (pictured) after the timber and concrete inner wall began crumbling away following the recent storms.
The Swansea West Pier website said: “Without this structure, there could be the loss of beach material and flood and coastal erosion issues along the coastal frontage west of the pier.”
Graham will carry out the first stage by carrying out surveys, design details, costing and submitting a construction programme.
Construction on site is expected to start this July and set to finish at the beginning of 2022.
