A review is being commissioned to establish whether the stadium site’s legacy could include a secondary school
The governement has issued a statement saying that the Olympic stadium site could house a secondary school as part of its legacy.
Tessa Jowell and Jim Knight, the schools minister, have commissioned a review to look into the possibility. Both stressed that if the scheme was viable it would be in addition to the site’s legacy role as a sports venue.
The review will consult stakeholders from sport, education and the local community. A report containing its final advice is scheduled for June 2008.
