Homeowners will be able to apply for £10m of grants towards sustainable
The government has extended its green grant scheme for homeowners until 2010.
Up to £10m will be available for microgeneration technologies in the latest round of funding in the Low Carbon Building Programme.
Extra green energy grants are also being made available to schools and community organisations from today.
The grants can be used for sustainable devices such as solar panels, biomass systems and ground source heat pumps until June 2010.
"Overhauling the grants scheme makes small scale green energy technology a more affordable option for public organisations, schools and charities” said energy minister Malcolm Wickes.
From 6th April, homeowners will be able to install renewables without the need for planning permission.
