This skyscraper is a fantasy project for Bristol as viewed from the Clifton Suspension Bridge over the Avon Gorge. It is one of four buildings dreamed up by local architect Stride Treglown in response to a survey on tall buildings published by Bristol council in July 2004. The local authority said that “the majority of people believe tall buildings could be developed without spoiling the city’s character”. Of 643 responses to the council’s internet survey, 59% agreed that tall buildings ought to be erected in the city centre.
