Firm joins growing list handing staff extra cash
Industrial and logistics contractor Glencar is handing more than 300 staff a £1,000 cost of living payment in their pay packets later this month.
All staff on PAYE regardless of level and who have been with the St Albans-based business for more than a month will be given the cash, the firm said.
Chief executive Eddie McGillycuddy, who set up the business six years ago with director Chris Gleave when the pair left McLaren after a combined 26 years at that business, said: “Cost of living is a real challenge for people. We’re very mindful of our team and people. Every member of our PAYE team gets £1,000.”
Glencar, which is set to post an increased turnover of just over £400m in the year to September when its next set of accounts are filed at Companies House shortly, is the latest in a growing list of firms to make the payments.
Bam, Skanska, Galliford Try, Keltbray and architect Allies and Morrison have all handed staff extra money in recent weeks.
