Gleeds has been appointed to a £75m commercial redevelopment job in the centre of Glasgow, which includes the refurbishment of the city’s old BHS.
The 240,000 ft2 scheme for Formal Investments includes a new 12-storey office building on Bath Street and the remodelling of the former home of bankrupt retailer BHS’s store. A third premises located on Sauchiehall Street will also be improved.
Gleeds is to manage the entire programme of works, subject to planning permission and will also be responsible for assisting with the appointment of additional consultants.
Brian Stevenson, director for Glasgow at Gleeds, said: “This scheme has the potential to completely transform both the commercial and public realms of this part of Glasgow and represents a fantastic opportunity for business across the board.”
Work on the project is expected to begin in summer 2017.
