Consultants secured two-year extension
Consultancy Gleeds has secured a two-year extension to its facilities management contract with fashion retail brand JD Sports, thought to be worth £5m.
Gleeds has been providing a service desk as well as commercial cost and supply chain management to over 500 JD Sports stores since 2006.
Gleeds declined to reveal the value of the deal, however Building understands the contract extension is likely to be worth in the region of £5m.
Under the new contract, JD sports will use Gleeds’ FM2 - a paperless financial management system that will enable the retailer to share facilities data with business partners via a web-based helpdesk.
Stuart Ball, director of Gleeds Energy, was responsible for the contract. He said he was “delighted” to renew its relationship with JD Sports. “Implementing Gleeds’ services across the JD Sports retail portfolio over the last four years has brought cost and service quality benefits and has enabled the property management team to concentrate on growing their core business,” he said.
Gleeds recently completed its work on the Warsash Maritime Academy scheme in Southampton. The firm acted as QS, project manager and CDM co-ordinator on the project for client Southampton Solent University.
