St Regis resort in the Maldives opens to punters, as consultant also picks up two major jobs in India
Consultant Gleeds has completed work on a picture-perfect luxury resort in the Indian Ocean.
The 95-room St Regis Resort covers 8 hectares of the virgin Vommuli Island near the Maldives.
It was designed by WOW Architects and Warner Wong Design. Gleeds acted as project and construction manager.
Gleeds has also picked up two major contracts in India covering 10 million sq ft of floor space.
The consultant is acting as cost manager on the 6.5 million sq ft Surat Diamond Bourse diamond trading hub that will accommodate over 4,000 traders - the largest of its kind in the world.
Meanwhile, Gleeds is also acting as cost manager on a 3.5 milllion sq ft industrial and warehouse complex for Brookfield Real Estate in Bangalore.
Commenting on the India contract wins, Stuart Senior, main board partner at Gleeds, said: “We are delighted to be continuing to win work in this exciting country. These new project awards illustrate that the relationship between businesses in the UK and India has always been important.”
