Keppie hired for master plan due to ‘understanding of cultural and social issues in Egypt’
Glasgow-based architect Keppie Design has been appointed to masterplan a new city centre in Cairo.
The work is being carried out for local developer Ouia Real Estate with the scheme covering around 37ha.
The new district will cover 1.5 million m2 of retail, office and leisure buildings.
Keppie design director David Ross said: “We are very pleased to be working on such a major project. We were able to demonstrate an understanding of cultural and social issues in Egypt.”
