Guildford council has given the green light to an £11m library at the University of Surrey’s Stag Hill campus in the town

The four-storey building, designed by RMJM, will be clad in gold-anodised aluminium to echo the gilded angel of the local cathedral and the city’s Anglo Saxon name “Gyldeford” – Golden Ford. The 4,450m2 facility will boost the number of study spaces by 30%. Northcroft is project manager and QS and SKM is the structural engineer.
