Acquisition of one of the UK’s largest specialist contractors will be announced on Monday
German cladding giant Lindner has snapped up one of the UK’s largest specialist contractors, dramatically increasing its UK presence.
Lindner will announce its acquisition of £65m turnover Prater on Monday, Building understands.
The acquisition will knock out one of Lindner’s major competitors in the UK market, in a specialist sector increasingly dominated by large global contractors.
Prater has worked on many major projects including the London 2012 Olympic Stadium, Emirates Stadium, Heathrow Terminal Four and Westfield London.
The firm has recently opened an office in India and is working on the development of the new Formula One track in New Delhi – its first major project there.
A director at another UK envelope firm said: “This is Lindner taking out another competitor. It will complement Lindner well as they tend to go for higher value projects in the UK. This will give them a large bite of the market below that.”
Prater and Lindner declined to comment.
