Mumford and Wood has designed and manufactured the Georgian-style sash windows and the complementary doorsets of this new-build house in Cornwall.
The double-glazed units were designed to meet Building Regulations while still retaining slender glazing bars.
The windows are made from engineered and laminated, knot-free larch and are operated with pre-stretched nylon cords, traditional sash weights and heavy duty brass pulley wheels. The alternative spring balanced version is also available.
Every element of the design – from the pavilions, curved walls and overall proportions – has been designed and built to replicate an original Georgian property, with thicker than normal walls which suits the style of windows.
Mumford and Wood can also make single glazed options when planning restrictions require.
