Contractor scoops design-and-build jobs in Lewisham and Canning Town
Galliford Try has won five affordable housing and regeneration projects worth a total of £36m.
It will be paid £20m to design and build the Tidemill School, Deptford Lounge and Resolution Studios, all in Lewisham. As part of the work it will build a library, a council service centre, community rooms, office spaces, a cafe and health and leisure services.
Galliford has also been commissioned to build Resolution Studios in the south London borough. This comprises nine creative studio units, an art gallery and 38 one and two bedroom homes. The project is set to complete in May 2011.
The firm also scooped three contracts from Swan Housing Association to build 128 affordable homes in Canning Town, east London worth a total of £14.3m.
It will also carry out work worth £1.8m to remodel the first to third floors of Anchor House, a hostel for homeless adults in the ward.
