Upgrade of sewage works will help clean up the Thames
Galliford Try has been awarded a £28m Thames Water contract to upgrade sewage works in Dartford.
The contract will be carried out in joint venture with Biwater and Mott MacDonald.
The project comprises part of a £40m development at Long Reach to help clean up the River Thames, by providing additional treatment processes to improve the quality of treated effluent which is returned to the river.
The contract will include the construction of an electricity substation, a sludge storage building and blower house, as well as modifications to existing facilities.
Construction is expected to begin this spring and be completed by 2012.
