Contractor and housebuilder Galliford Try is expected to announce a restructuring early next month, which will include redundancies and office closures.
Insiders at the firm said it was still in the midst of the redundancy process. The job cuts will be mainly from offices in Leeds and Maidstone in Kent. The Plymouth branch will close.

One insider said: "The firm is offering staff in those three offices jobs in London, where the firm is still recruiting. It's still in consultation."

As part of the restructuring, the Galliford Try brand is to extended across the firm. Until now regional divisions have been called Try or Galliford, despite the fact that the two businesses merged in 2000.

The insider added: "The restructuring probably should have been sorted out a couple of years ago when the firms merged."
