Contractor reaches financial close on deal involving Equitix and the county council
Contractor Galliford Try has reached financial close on the £600m Cambridgeshire Building Schools for the Future programme.
Galliford is one of the construction partners for the deal between Equitix and the county authority, which will see the firm build the £26m Neale-Wade Community College in the first phase.
Galliford said it anticipated the second phase of the programme, which includes the £19 million Cromwell Community College in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, will follow.
Last week Kier announced it had finalised an agreement to build two other colleges for Equitix in the Cambridgeshire programme, worth £44.2m.
Galliford Try Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald said: “We are delighted to reach financial close as a construction partner on this significant education project which underlines our strong market position in the sector.”
