Construction group announces new jobs in London and Midlands
Galliford Try has been awarded new commercial building contracts worth a total of £49.4m, the company said.
The housebuilding and construction group said Green Property had selected it for a £27m project to create 100,000 sq ft of category-A office space in the St James’s Park area of central London, while Royal London Mutual Insurance has commissioned the £8.9m extension and refurbishment of office space in the capital’s Wimpole Street.
Meanwhile, Aviva Investors and Citycourt Estates have commissioned Gallifords to construct the £13.5m Warwickshire Shopping Park at Binley near Coventry. It will feature 24 retail units and community spaces, and is due for completion in January 2013 - with Marks & Spencer, Boots and Asda already committed to the project.
Chief executive Greg Fitzgerald said the contract wins were significant for the firm.
“The London office sector remains an important market for us, while the Warwickshire Shopping Park is yet another landmark project for Galliford Try in the Midlands region,” he said.
