Contractor awarded final Tier One contract to build part of the residential development on 2012 athletes village
Galliford Try has been awarded the final Tier One contract to build part of the residential development on the 2012 athletes village.
The project, which will involve the construction of 300 apartments on one of the site’s residential plots, is being delivered by the Olympic Delivery Authority and Lend Lease, which is acting as development and project manager.
The first Tier One contract was awarded to Ardmore in August. Fifteen companies were then shortlisted for the remaining three Tier One contracts to build five residential plots.
Other Tier One contracts on the village have also been awarded to P Elliott and Company Ltd and John Sisk and Son Ltd.
The first of the eleven residential plots on the village have been structurally completed. Work is now under way on all other residential plots.
After the Games, the blocks will be converted into a mixture of affordable housing and flats for sale.
