Contractor pays £7m for five housebuilding sites belonging to Wright Group, which recently went into administration
Contractor Galliford Try has agreed to pay £7m for the housing assets of Hull-based Wright Group, which went into administration in February.
The firm said it would purchase five housing sites near Hull and York, which include 18 complete plots and 63 at an advanced stage of construction.
The sites will be managed by Galliford Try's regional housebuilding office in Grimsby.
Galliford Try chief executive Greg Fitzgerald said: “The acquisition of Wright Homes provides additional immediate points of sale and landbank that will add to our existing business based in the Lincolnshire and Humber area and extend its geographical reach for the future.
“We will continue to take a highly selective approach to the opportunities that arise to add to our housebuilding business in the current market and to enhance its positioning for the longer term.”
