Contractor Galliford Try has won a series of building jobs in Manchester worth £36.5m,
Galliford Try has been appointed by The Carlyle Group and its joint venture partners Nikal and Abstract Securities to build the £12.5m second stage of the Soapworks project.
The contract covers the entire second phase of the project and will create 210,000 sq. ft. of Category A office space adjoining the Media City complex in Salford Quays.
It has also won a job from Muse Developments to deliver the £10.75m sixth phase of the Smithfield residential project in Salford, which will see the creation of 77 apartments for private sale.
As Building revealed in March, the firm has also won Gary Neville’s £13m hotel for supporters of Manchester United opposite the Old Trafford ground.
RED Property Services has appointed Galliford Try to construct the four-star 139-bed hotel Old Trafford Supporters Club hotel, featuring supporters’ club facilities, bar and additional retail units.
Galliford Try chief executive Greg Fitzgerald said the contract wins demonstrated the strength of the firm’s regional construction business. “We are delighted to be working on these significant developments for the region, and look forward to continuing to play our part in enhancing the built environment in the North West.”
