Coull is leaving Segro and will succeed current chairman David Calerley next July
Galliford Try has announced the appointment of Segro chief executive Ian Coull as chairman.
Coull, who is stepping down from Segro, will join the board as a non-executive director on 8 November and succeed current chairman David Calverley on 1 July 2011.
Prior to joining Segro, Europe’s largest industrial REIT and business space provider, Coull was a director of Sainsbury with responsibility for all property, construction, environmental and related activities and he is a fellow of the RICS.
Coull said: “This is an exciting time to be joining the company as they continue to drive forward their housebuilding expansion plan and develop their construction activities.”
Calverley said: “Ian will be a tremendous asset to the company with his extensive business experience and knowledge of both the retail and commercial property sectors. The board is very much looking forward to working with him and benefiting from his business acumen and expertise.”
Segro has said a process for replacing Coull is underway and will include internal and external candidates.
