Galliford Try has reached financial close on a £100m private finance initiative contract to supply 240 supported housing units for Kent council, enabling work to get under way on the project
The contract on the Excellent Homes for All PFI scheme will involve the provision of about 240 supported living homes and communal facilities for vulnerable adults across Kent.
The supported housing schemes will be built by Galliford Try’s Partnerships business in the boroughs of Ashford, Dartford, Dover, Thanet and Tunbridge Wells.
The company will also invest in the funding for the project and will provide ongoing facilities maintenance and lifecycle management services in operating the scheme.
The FTSE 250 housebuilder’s partner, West Kent Housing Association, will manage the schemes.
Galliford Try chief executive Greg Fitzgerald said: “Extra care remains an important sector for Galliford Try and we look forward to providing the high quality homes and facilities that Kent’s residents deserve.”
Galliford Try was selected as preferred bidder on the PFI contract in December 2013.
