Renfrewshire council awards Apollo, Wates Living Space, Connaught and Carillion Planned Maintenance contracts to renovate 13,000 council properties
Renfrewshire council has awarded four firms a £149m contract to renovate tens of thousands of council properties.
Apollo, Wates Living Space, Connaught and Carillion Planned Maintenance were awarded the sum to upgrade energy efficiency, safety and facilities in 13,000 homes in line with the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.
The standard requires authorities to improve council housing stock by 2015.
Renfrewshire council said the tendering process was weighted towards local businesses, as well as looking at the cost and quality of bids.
