Architect receives £4m to design office complex in Mumbai
Foster + Partners has made good on its promise to expand its business in India with a contract win for a 17-acre office complex in Mumbai.
The practice will reportedly net $8m (£4m) just to design the development, which will be known as Evolution.
A low-rise office development spreading over 2m sq ft, Evolution is the brainchild of Indian property developer the Neptune Group.
Lord Foster told the Indian media: “A city that works as hard as Mumbai deserves the best working environment possible. We will deliver a world class facility so far unmatched in the regions’ office property market.”
Mouzhan Majidi, chief executive of Foster + Partners, named India as an area of targeted expansion last May when private equity investor 3i bought a minority stake in the practice.
