Allies and Morrison will also be retained to masterplan 15-acre Euston site
FOA has been awarded the prestigious contract to design the new Euston Station, developers British Land and Network Rail announced today.
The developers also said that architects Allies and Morrison would be retained to masterplan the redevelopment of the whole 15-acre Euston site.
British Land said FOA would be required to design a “21st Century facility which increases capacity to match future demand and meets the growing needs and expectations of the travelling public.”
In total the regeneration scheme will produce more than 3 million sq ft of commercial, retail, residential and other uses. British Land said an essential part of the Allies brief was to create a scheme which acted as a catalyst for regeneration across the wider Euston area.
The design will form the basis of a planning application which the developers expect to submit in 2010.
FOA is also shortlisted for the redevelopment of Birmingham New Street station, with an announcement expected in the next few months.
