Developer Urban Splash plans to erect two of these ornate bus stops, designed by architect FAT, at its New Islington development in Manchester
FAT’s design, which will be made from laser-cut steel plate and coloured glass by manufacturer Bespoke, is on show at the Oxo Tower in London, along with other examples of unusual bus stops commissioned by the Architecture Foundation. These include triple-decker bunk beds by Klassnik Corporation, an open rainwater cistern by Dallaspierce and shelters that open and close like umbrellas by Feix & Merlin.
