Balfour Beatty, Costain, Laing O'Rourke, Taylor Woodrow and a Skanska/Mace joint venture all in the running
Five firms are bidding to carry out the £500m redevelopment of Tottenham Court Road station.
Balfour Beatty, Costain, Laing O'Rourke, Taylor Woodrow and a Skanska/Mace joint venture are all in the running for the work.
A contractor will be brought on board when the design, now out to tender, is 80% complete.

A separate contract will be let for the Crossrail station which will also be in the region of £500m.
Work is due to start next year, although soft-stripping of buildings for demolition on the site has already begun. When complete, the combined Tube and Crossrail station will stretch from Centre Point to Dean Street.
