ODA awards Fitzpatrick three-year contract to carry out maintenance and construction work on internal roads
The Olympic Delivery Authority has appointed Fitzpatrick Contractors to carry out maintenance and construction work on highways within the Olympic Park.
Fitzpatrick was selected to work with Mott MacDonald from a shortlist of “competitively-priced tenders”, according to the ODA.
The three-year contract will see Fitzpatrick work on all internal roads, entrance plazas and pedestrian footpaths within the 270ha park.
John Armitt, the ODA chairman, said: “Fitzpatrick Contractors Ltd has a sound track record of developing successful relationships with suppliers and contractors, and is dedicated to providing a quality service and value for money.
"Health and safety and sustainability are integral in their organisation, and they will work hard to minimise the impact they have on the environment whilst maintaining good service. Their commitment to increasing local employment is evident, from the fact that 30 per cent of their workforce are from neighbouring boroughs.”
The contractor is already building three approach bridges to the Olympic Village.
