Exclusive: Architect Colwyn Foulkes & Partners gets green light for luxury residence near Kensington Palace
Architect Colwyn Foulkes & Partners has won planning permission from Kensington & Chelsea council for a new luxury residential project on Kensington Palace Gardens.
The scheme, for client Hasib Holding Company Establishment, involves the construction of a new 22,000ft2 home, which will be the first new build at Kensington Palace Gardens for over 100 years.
Contractor Bouygues is understood to be the preferred bidder for the £18m project, which is close to Kensington Palace.
The external façade will have classical detailing and use bespoke materials., with the building designed to achieve level 4 for Code for Sustainable homes.
Colwyn Foulkes & Partners developed the design in conjunction with English Heritage, the Kensington Society and the Crown Estates heritage advisors.
Work is due to start on site in early 2014.
