Chinese opera house blaze comes just months after Rem Koolhaas building destroyed in Beijing
Fire has hit an opera house designed by Zaha Hadid under construction in Guangzhou, China.
According to media reports, flames and smoke began pouring from the site in the early hours of yesterday morning. The fire has now been extinguished, but the extent of the damage is not yet known.
The Guangzhou opera house was set to be Zaha Hadid's first building completed in China, containing an 1,800-seat theatre and a concert hall.
The fire comes just a couple of months after Rem Koolhaas' TVCC Tower in Beijing was extensively damaged by a fire.
