Financial advisers and private investors will soon need to be guided through the new Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) that are set to be introduced by the government from 1 January 2007.
Companies have been working together to pool their expertise on the subject on a website which is to be supported by a publicity campaign called Reita. The information available will offer advice on quoted property investment and REITs.
Some 30 companies have already signed up to the campaign as well as the London Stock Exchange, 10 merchant banks and advisors, the British Property Federation and the Investment Property Forum.
