Colin Jordan saw this watery grave in the making at Valetta Harbour in Malta. “This crew were placing these pre-cast units to form a new jetty – typically no hats, no boots (some were actually bare foot) and a lack of safety lines and life jackets! The water is approximately 4 metres deep at this point. Maybe the H&S induction included a swimming test.”
