Alumasc system chosen for Swindon tower refurb

Alumasc’s Swistherm External Wall Insulation (EWI) system was specified for George Hall Court, an eight storey residential tower block comprising of 30 flats in Swindon.Managed by Swindon council, the building had an existing EWI system which no longer met Part L of the Building Regulations and therefore required a thermal upgrade. 2000m2 of the Alumasc Swistherm system utilising 30mm EPS insulation was chosen. The company claims the new system resulted in the energy efficiency being improved from a U-Value of 0.46W/m2K to 0.33W/m2K.
