Paul Gandy to head up Kier’s southern construction business
The former London boss of Balfour Beatty Paul Gandy has joined Kier to run its building business in the south of the UK.
Gandy (pictured) starts this week and will oversee Kier’s construction business in the south, covering its London, Southern and Western and Wales portfolios of over 100 live sites. He will report to Peter Young, Kier executive director, Building UK.
Gandy was managing director of Baflour Beatty’s London operations and previously worked for Lendlease as MD for its England and Wales activities and has also held senior roles at Carillion and Multiplex.
Commenting on the appointment, Peter Young, Kier executive director for Building UK, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Paul to Kier. His extensive industry experience will complement our existing management team and his broad understanding of the southern UK market will be invaluable as we work towards our Vision 2020.”
On taking up his new post, Gandy said: “This is an exciting time for me to be joining Kier. Vision 2020 is an ambitious target and I’m eager to contribute to this and continue to grow Kier’s existing presence across the south of the country.”
Gandy is a fellow of RICS and the CIOB and has an MSc in building from the University of Westminster, and an MBA from Management Centre, Buckingham.
