Former Davis Langdon senior partner Paul Morrell to address the economics of going green conference in November
Building is to hold a conference examining sustainability in a downturn in November, which will include an address by former Davis Langdon senior partner Paul Morrell.
Economics of Sustainability is a two-day event that will look at going green to a budget. Speakers will also include leading clients such as Dan Epstein from the Olympic Delivery Authority, Clive Crawford from the University Partnerships Programme and Janet Kidner from Lend Lease. The seond day will be chaired by UK Green Building Council chief executive Paul King.
The event will be held at the recently built Bishops Square development in the City of London on 17 and 18 November. Other issues that will be tackled at the conference include: assessing the embodied energy of construction materials; cost effective refurbishments of existing houses; radically reducing construction waste; and the effectiveness of energy performance certificates and display energy certificates.
The event will also include a host of sustainable case studies, including a carbon neutral factory designed by architect Bond Bryan revisitng the Adnams Distribution centre.
