The architect's design includes the creation of streets and a square in the city's Edward Street Quarter

EPR Architects has won planning permission for its design for Amex's new offices in Brighton.

The scheme involves masterplanning the city's Edward Street Quarter, creating streets and a square to replace the existing building there.

The form of the new building features large, flexible, well-lit spaces throughout, and is designed with views from the north and west particularly in mind.

The proposed development adopts a sustainable approach, embracing low-carbon and renewable energy technology and using sustainable materials, with green and brown roofs and water harvesting both used.

It has been given a design stage BREEAM rating of very good.
