Integrated Environmental Solutions to start sessions late this month. Top-up training for CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants will also be offered
Technology firm Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) is to start training Accredited Energy Assessors on its EPC software at the end of the month.
The sessions, which will start on 31 January, are intended for those looking to become accredited to provide Energy Performance Certificates for commercial buildings across England and Wales.
The Government requires assessors to demonstrate their competence in SBEM or Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) tools. The Energy Assessor' level of ability on these tools will affect the grade of building (levels 3, 4 or 5) they can create EPCs for.
The sessions will be linked to CIBSE Certifications’ Low Carbon Consultant Energy Assessor scheme, approved by the CLG last week.
IES is also offering top-up sessions for existing CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants (design or simulation) at discounted rates.
Landlords or property owners will need to provide EPCs to any prospective buyer or tenant on construction, sale or lease of any commercial building by 1 October this year.
