Bellway Homes, Crest Nicholson, Midas Homes, Places for People, Taylor Woodrow Developments and Wain Homes to vie for 7 ha site in Camborne.
Six developers will fight it out to regenerate a 7 ha site in Camborne, Cornwall.
English Partnerships and urban regeneration company CPR, working with property adviser GVA Grimley, have invited six companies to prepare in-depth submissions.
The shortlist is Bellway Homes, Crest Nicholson, Midas Homes, Places for People, Taylor Woodrow Developments and Wain Homes.
By the end of February 2006 each company will present proposals to regenerate the former CompAir Holman site and the winner will be chosen next March.
Steve Jackson, senior regeneration manager at English Partnerships, said: “The quality and integrity of the submissions we received is a positive endorsement of the potential of this site to contribute to the future prosperity of Camborne.”
English Partnerships bought the site in 2003 on behalf of CPR Regeneration to spark physical and economic regeneration in Camborne.
The £90m masterplan for the site has been approved by Kerrier council and aims to create a sustainable neighbourhood including about 380 homes.
