Funding package launched to help ECA members improve older people's skills

The Electrical Contractors Association has launched a £10m training fund.

The fund will go towards ongoing training in areas that currently do not qualify for government funding, such as training adults.

David Pollack, ECA chief executive officer, said: "In this changing business environment, we believe that adult training and up-skilling the talent that already exists within the industry is key to plugging the skills gap.

"Our fund expressly intends to incentivise member companies that are committed to training and those struggling to get training programmes off the ground. We hope that other organisations within the building services environment will follow our lead and that as an industry we will work together to tackle the skills shortfall once and for all."

The fund will be available to ECA members from 1 April when members will be able to download the application form from the ECA website: www.eca.co.uk.
