Microgeneration company Segen has installed this turbine for a commercial development in Ealing, West London
A new wind turbine has been erected in order to meet Ealing Council’s 10% renewable obligation required as part of planning consent approval. The20kW Westwind Turbine is on an 18m mast.
“More than 100 councils around the country have developed a renewable obligation scheme for new commercial developments,” said Segen account manager, Lee Baxter. “This turbine is a good option for many projects, including commercial properties, schools, larger rural properties and farms with high-energy needs."
Installation costs are around £60,000 depending on the site, according to Segen. The main contractor on the project is Galliford Try .
