This is the first view of Anglo-Dutch architect S333’s masterplan for the regeneration of the area around Derriford hospital, to the north of Plymouth.

The practice has labelled the first building a “transferium” – a structure that will house a car park, shops, a nursery and public terraces. The wider scheme, including 700 homes across 16 acres, is being worked up by local developer Wharfside Regeneration in partnership with Plymouth Hospital Trust. Construction is expected to start in early 2009.
