Social housing contractor Durkan said it was satisfied with its results in the year to 31 January 2008, although pre-tax profit fell 25% from £4.6m to £3.4m.
The firm blamed planning delays for the fall.
Turnover was down 16% from £107m to £90m. The highest-paid director took home £303,269, down 28% from £422,422 in the previous year.
Meanwhile, Essex contractor Lakehouse reported a 65% jump in pre-tax profit from £668,000 to £1.1m in the year to 30 September 2007. Turnover rose 19% from £35.5m to £42.2m; its margin went from 1.9% to 2.6%.
The highest paid director took home £203,422, down from £250,335 the previous year.
The company said it had been successful in securing a number of long-term framework arrangements.
